Lawrence "Larry" J. Eger Jr. of The Villages, Fla., formerly of North Weymouth, Mass., passed away June 29, 2013, at the age of 70. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Flanagan) Eger for 46 years; devoted father to Brian and his wife Shelly (Dalton) of Billerica, Mass., Donna Prioli and her husband Scott and Kevin and his wife Carolyn (Dobbyn) of Weymouth, Mass. The proud Papa to 8 grandchildren, he was the loving son of the late Frances (ONeil) Eger and Lawrence Eger Sr. He grew up in South Boston, graduating from Gate of Heaven High School and recieved a BA from Boston College. A former Polaroid employee for 33 years, he then worked for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in 2006. He was a lifetime member of the Weymouth Elks and the ultimate Boston sports fan. Larry was a past president and coach of the North Weymouth Farm League. He was also a coach for Weymouth Pop Warner football, where he received the Steve Ondrick Award, the highest award an adult can receive for working with children. A funeral Mass was held at St. Jeromes Church, 632 Bridge St., North Weymouth, Saturday, July 20, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Old North Cemetery, North Weymouth.
