Madeline T. (OBrien) Simpson, age 81, a longtime resident of Quincy, died suddenly, Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Carney Hospital in Boston, surrounded by her loving family. Madeline was born in Boston, raised and educated in South Boston. She was a graduate of the former Cardinal Cushing High School. She had lived in Quincy for thirty-three years, previously in Weymouth for many years. Madeline was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She was the devoted mother of Linda P. Thomas and her husband Kevin of Florida, Jean Coward and her husband William of Brockton, Mark Simpson of Weymouth, Marie Murray and her husband Steven of Abington, Paul Simpson and his wife Jeanne of Plymouth, Ellen Alemian and her husband Edward of Fall River, Joseph Simpson of Quincy, Robert Simpson of Quincy, and the late Joann Smith and her husband Robert of Quincy; beloved companion for thirty-six years of Frederick J. Cucinatta of Quincy; loving grandmother of twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. One of eight siblings, she was the dear sister of Patricia Grady of Sandwich, Mary Slaney of Florida, and was predeceased by Elizabeth Williams, John, Michael, William, and Walter OBrien. Madeline is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and Fredericks children, James Cucinatta, Mary Ann Cucinatta, and Christine McBride. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday, November 16, from 3-7 p.m. at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy.
