Norman W. McCulloch Obituary
Norman William McCulloch, of Weymouth, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016, at the age of 77. Beloved husband to Judith Hay McCulloch for 57 years, he was the loving father to Bonnie Mehrman and her husband Brian of Weymouth, and Scott McCulloch and his wife Bonnie McAndrews McCulloch of Weymouth; cherished grandfather to Rebecca Cunniffe of Jamaica Plain, Kurt Mehrman of Rockland, Emma Bruno of Weymouth, Brittany and Abigail McCulloch, both of Weymouth, and his three great-grandchildren, Jack, Nicholas, and Josephine; caring brother to John McCulloch Jr. of Weymouth, and Donna McCulloch Brown of Hanson; as well as many nieces and nephews. Norman was the son of Mary and John McCulloch Sr. and was born and raised in Weymouth where he graduated from Weymouth High School. He worked as an auto mechanic for Woodwards Spring Shop in Quincy for 25 years. During that time, he always had a passion for antiques which lead him to leave his tools behind, and pursue his true love of the antique business. He then began working antique auctions which turned into a family business where his son Scott has followed in his footsteps by running weekly auctions at the Broad Cove in Hingham for the past 24 years. Norman was well know all across New England for his display of treasures at antique shows. He was a lifetime member of the Weymouth Jaycees. He enjoyed golfing but his true passion was his antiques. Norman was a wonderful man who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visiting hours will be held at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond Street, Hingham, Wednesday, December 14, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral from the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, Thursday, December 15, at 9:30 a.m. with a funeral service in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Old North Cemetery in North Weymouth.
