Robert "Steve" Mariani, 84, of Weymouth died on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Annette (DiGiusto) Mariani. Born in Quincy on December 1, 1932, he was the Son of the late Pasquale and Mary (Chiavaroli) Mariani. Steve served in the Air Force during the Korean War, upon his return he married his wife Annette and they started their family in Braintree. He was employed by New England Telephone Co. in Braintree up until his retirement. Steve was a devoted husband of 58 years, he loved and was loved by his entire family. He was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable sports fan and avid golfer. He loved spending time gardening, sitting by the pool or on the beach. Steve also loved cooking his special Italian recipes. He was a longtime member and past officer of the Torre dei Passeri Society and Social Club where he had many lifelong friends. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Debbie and her husband Roy Setterlund of Orleans (formerly of Belmont); a son, Robert and his wife Karen (McKeon) of Weymouth; grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Juliann, Tyler, Nicholas and the late Derek Setterlund, one great-grandchild Dominic and another on the way. Memorial Mass held at St. Johns Church, 44 School Street, Quincy on Monday, April 10, at 10 a.m. Memorial visitation held at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., on Sunday, April 9, from 2 to 5 p.m. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
