Sylvia A. Concannon Obituary
Sylvia A. Concannon, 83, of Braintree, died Friday morning, February 10, 2017 at Rutland Regional Medical Center. She was born January 2, 1934 in East Braintree; the daughter of Thomas A. & Blanche (Carpenter) Jarvis. She graduated from Randolph High School and was married to Francis D. Concannon in Randolph on October 26, 1957. Sylvia had lived in East Weymouth, MA for 35 years before returning to East Braintree in 1994. She had worked at the Dairy Building at the University of Vermont from 1955-1957 and was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and the Snowsville Grange. Sylvia enjoyed crocheting, knitting and caring for the farm animals. Survivors include her daughters, Kay Foley and husband Joe of Bristol, Laura Concannon of Weymouth, MA, Elizabeth Walton and husband Lance of New Ipswich, NH, Christine OToole and husband Ed of Blackstone, MA, and Leslie Tripp and husband Brian of Berkley, MA; son Joseph Concannon of Whitman, MA; sisters Sybil Cooper of Honeyville, UT and Shirley Dumont of Braintree; brother Alfred Jarvis of Randolph; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband in 2004, brothers Stanford & Bernard Jarvis; sisters Arlene Jarvis, June Northrup and Anne Aruzza. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, February 22nd at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Randolph, with Rev. John Milanese, officiating. Calling hours are from 4:00-6:00pm Tuesday, Feb. 21st at the Day Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Spring at Pleasant View Cemetery.
