Walter J. "Okie" OConnor Jr., 85, Tuftonboro, N.H., formerly of Weymouth, passed away on December 7, 2017 at the VA Hospital, Brockton. He was surrounded by family and died with dignity and grace. Walter was a hard worker from a very young age. He attempted to enlist in the Army National Guard at age 14 as he was so eager to serve his nation. He married Christine the same year and they went on to have 11 children. He owned his own company, Printer Delivery Service, until 1969. He then worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight service. He worked many other odd jobs throughout the years in order to provide for his growing family. After retirement he moved from North Weymouth to Tuftonboro, N.H. He sang in the choir at St. Katharine Drexel Parish where he made many wonderful friends. Okie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Catching up on the news, playing card games and socializing. He loved his grandchildren and telling a good joke. He enjoyed trips to visit his children and spending time with friends. He was devoted to his wife of 65 years. He will be greatly missed.
