Dorothy A. (Adams) Wilcox, 63 years of age,entered Life Eternal at the Royal Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Braintree, Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, after a period of declining health. She was born in Cambridge and had been a life long Weymouth resident. In earlier years she had been a waitress at several South Shore restaurants. Dorothy graduated from Weymouth High School. She was a member of the Old South Union Congregational Church, South Weymouth. She loved life and caring for her grandson Dylan. She enjoyed spending time at Nantasket Beach. She was the devoted mother of Christine A. Wilcox of Abington and Debra L. Wilcox married to Richard Rossman of Manchester, NH. She was the mother of the late Charles J.Wilcox III, formerly of Weymouth. Dorothy was the sister of Lawrence Adams of Weymouth, Paul Adams of Florida, Frederic C. Adams Jr. of Weymouth, Stephen Adams of Florida, Thomas Adams of Weymouth, Janice McKinney of Bridgewater and the late Richard J. Adams, formerly ofWeymouth. Dorothy was the loving grandmother of Dylan C. Wilcox-Frank of Abington. She was the daughter of the late Frederic and Grace Adams. Visiting hours were at the Peck Funeral Home, 870 Broad St., (Jackson Square), East Weymouth, Friday, Dec. 16 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service was held following the visiting hours at 7:30 p.m Friday with the Reverend Terry O. Martinson, pastor of the Old South Union Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was private at the Old North Cemetery, North Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Old South Union Congregational Church, 25 Columbian St., S. Weymouth, MA 02190.
