Frederick R. Dunne, age 83, of Weymouth, formerly of Dorchester, passed away surrounded by family Nov. 25, 2012. A retired Master Sergeant U.S. Army, Fred served 20 years in the U.S. Army during World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War. After serving in the U.S. Army, he became a pump station operator for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. He retired in 1990. He was a volunteer in the Massachusetts Malitia as a Colonel. He enjoyed spending his weekends with his son-in-law and grandchildren watching New England Patriots football. He also enjoyed weekly cookouts with his family and playing with his great-grandchildren. Beloved husband of the late Theresia (Frei) Dunne, he was the devoted father of Michael Dunne of South Boston, Elisabeth Gillespie and her husband Gary of Weymouth, Martin Dunne of Michigan, Mary Singerella of Lawrence, Patricia Baranyai of Delaware, Charlotte Savage of Quincy, Edmond Dunne of Concord, Allan Dunne of Quincy, Charles Dunne of New Hampshire and the late Laura Stapleton. Also survived by 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces a nephews. Visiting hours were held Nov. 29, from 4-8 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home, at 809 Main St., South Weymouth. A funeral Mass was held Nov. 30 in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth Landing, at 9:30 a.m. Interment in Fairmount Cemetery, East Weymouth. Donations may be made in his memory to the
