Pearl J. Pottle Obituary
Pearl J. (MacDonald) Pottle, 91 years of age, entered Life Eternal at the Colonial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013. She was born in Braintree and had resided in Weymouth for almost 30 years. She was a former resident of Braintree and Quincy. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard S. Pottle who died in 2004 to whom she had been married for 60 years. She was the devoted mother of Sandra McKeon of Weymouth, Judith D. Judy Petit married to Alan Petit of East Weymouth and Linda S. Pearson married to Richard Pearson of North Weymouth. She was the loving grandmother of Michael Bonani of N.H., Alan B. Petit Jr. of Walpole, Michelle Nagle of N.H., Kimberly J. Petit of Weymouth, Kristen Chapdelaine of Weymouth, and twins Matthew and Michael Pearson of North Weymouth. She was the loving great-grandmother of Adam and Andrew Nagle, Summer Petit Schottmiller and Madeleine Chapdelaine. Pearl was the last surviving member of the ten MacDonald Children. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and great great-nieces and great great-nephews. Pearl attended Braintree schools and was a longtime member of the Union Congregational Church of Weymouth and Braintree. She was a member of the Union Towers Association. She enjoyed bowling and growing vegetables in her yard. Pearl was in the first graduating class of Winnie the Welders at the Fore River Shipyard. She served as a woman welder during WWII. She has been honored for being a member of that group and has her picture in the Womens museum on the USS Massachusetts at Battleship Cove in Fall River. A Funeral Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck | Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Thursday at 11a.m. Burial will follow at the Old North Cemetery, North Weymouth. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 4 - 8 p.m. in Braintree. Memorial donations may be sent to the Colonial Nursing Home.
