Robert Gangi Sr., 79, of Portsmouth, died peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover. He was born in Winchester, MA on February 8, 1939 a son of the late Michael and Lillian (Gravina) Gangi. Raised in Woburn, MA he graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1956. Following graduation Robert enlisted and proudly served 4 years in the Air Force. Robert worked for General Electric in Lynn as a Crane Operator for 25 years, retiring in 1990. During this time he also owned and operated the former White Knight Limousine in Salem. Family members include his loving wife, Arlene Pierce of Portsmouth; siblings, Barbara Greenleaf and her husband Charles of Stoneham, MA, Michael Gangi and his wife Carol of Jensen Beach, FL, Annmarie Kenney of Jensen Beach, FL and Denise Winters and her husband Ken of Fall Brook, CA; children, Kelly Ann Porter and her husband Tim of Salem, MA, Robert Gangi Jr. and his wife Jayme of Shrewsbury, MA and foster daughter, Janice Lund of Billerica, MA; 3 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Charles Gangi and his wife Jeanne. A visiting hour will be held from 1 to 2 PM on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will immediately follow at 2 PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. I will miss my dear uncle bob....uncle bob and I have always had a good relationship over the years...always great to talk to and to have laughs with...uncle bob and arlene are both family and friends to me and I loved seeing them together....very fond memories of uncle bob coming to our fishing derby over the years....he always got the "fishing fashion" trophy at the derby with his matching raincoat getup....god bless and you will never be forgotten...love your nephew rick
