Doris G. Ayotte 88, of Bellingham, died peacefully, Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Medway Country Manor following an illness. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Ayotte, who died in 1978. Born June 22, 1924 in Nova Scotia, Canada a daughter of the late William and Louise (Wentworth) Brennan, she lived in Nova Scotia before coming to the United States in 1925. She was a longtime resident of Franklin, before moving to Bellingham in 1976. She was raised and educated in Massachusetts, and was a graduate of the Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. A registered nurse, she worked for Milford Hospital, Dean College at the Student Health Center, the Foxboro Company and for the late Dr. Ernest J. Pastorello in Franklin. Doris enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, reading, watching television, and summered in Brewster, Onset on Cape Cod and Little Compton, Rhode Island. She was a member of the Happy 14 Group, and the Bellingham Senior Citizens. Doris is survived by her children; William R. Ayotte and his wife Gail of Bellingham, Jean M. Pellegri of Niantic, CT, a brother Raymond Brennan of Franklin and a sister Helen Robinson of Attleboro. She is the mother of the late Susan M. Ayotte and Paul W. Ayotte and sister of the late Elizabeth, James, William and George Brennan and Jean Storme. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Mark Pellegri and his wife Michelle of Roswell, GA. and Aimee Pellegri of Waterford, CT., and her great-grandchildren Simon and Luca Pellegri, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends were invited to attend her funeral Friday, May 10, at 9:15 a.m. from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St. Franklin, with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church 1 Church Sq. at 10 a.m. Interment followed at the parish cemetery. Calling hours were Thursday, May 9, from 4 - 8 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the , 5 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
