Sylvia H. (Mort) LaBrecque, 82, of Medway died March 22 in the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. She was the wife of Robert F. LaBrecque. Born in Newton, November 21, 1931, the daughter of the late John R. and Anna A. (Sadler) Mort, Mrs. LaBrecque was raised in Newton and Watertown and had lived in Medway for the past 55 years. She was a 1949 graduate of Watertown High School. Mrs. LaBrecque had been a senior teller at Middlesex Savings Bank at their Millis branch for many years before retiring. She had previously worked at Medway Co-operative Bank and Needham National Bank. Sylvia was a talented rug hooker and seamstress. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Arthur Chip Nevins and his wife Karen of Framingham, Laura Ranahan of Estero, Florida, Tamra Nevins of Medway and Wanda Nevins and her longtime partner, Andy Long of Sandwich. She was the sister of the late Patricia Delorey. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her calling hours will be held on Friday, April 4, in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway from 4-7 p.m. The calling hours will conclude with a memorial service at 7:00p.m. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Old Colony Hospice 247 North Main St. Suite 400, Randolph, MA 02368.
