Drury S. Schnaible (Sweetser) 55 of Dennisport died Thursday October 17, 2013 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis surrounded by loved ones and her husband lovingly holding her hand. She was the devoted wife of John G. Schnaible for 35 years. Born in Barnstable, Drury was the daughter of the late Stanley R. and B. Susan (Swanson) Sweetser. She was a lifelong resident of Dennisport and a 1976 graduate of Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School. She dedicated her life to serving her community through many passions, including Director of Religious Education for the Northside Methodist Church in Brewster, a member of the Dennis Police Association, Dennisport Crime Watch, Dennisport Revitalization Committee, and empowering the elderly to live a full life. To say that Drury touched many lives and was well loved would be an understatement. She was a friend and second mother to many. In addition to her husband, Drury is survived by a son, Cory J. and his wife, Robyn of Portland, ME; a daughter, Rebecca L. of Portland, OR; three brothers, Paul E. Sweetser of Dennisport, Stanley C. Sweetser of Yadkinville, NC, and William Molnar of Canyon Country, CA; a sister, Dianne I. Toolas of Brewster; and several cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, expected identical twin granddaughters, and friends. An outdoor memorial service, in celebration of her life, will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday October 26 at the Schnaible residence, 109 Sea St., Dennisport. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday October 25 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Family Pantry of Cape Cod, 133 Queen Anne Rd., Harwich, MA 02645.
