McCARR, Ky. — Herbert McClellan "Herbie" Farley Jr., 55, of McCarr, Ky., passed away Thurs., May 8, 2014, at South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital Emergency Room.
Born March 23, 1959, at Williamson, he was a son of Ruby Eleanor Duty Farley of McCarr and the late Herbert McClellan Farley Sr.
Herbie was an entrepreneur having been involved in several businesses in both Pike and Mingo Counties. He was owner of Farley Trucking Company at McCarr. He loved talking to all of his friends no matter the time and place. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Beside his mother, he is survived by his fiancée of 15 years, Tammy Cooper (Farley) of McCarr; sons, Herbert McClellan (Amanda) Farley III of St. Albans, William Glenn (Amanda) Farley of Sumerco, and Justin Lewis Farley of McCarr; daughter, Alexus McKennae Farley of McCarr; step-son, Dwayne Cooper of South Williamson, Ky.; brothers, Talbert Randy (Linda "Cookie") Farley, Kenneth L. (Connie) Farley and Brian K. (Linda) Farley, all of McCarr; grandchildren, Hayden Myles and Makenzie Dawn Farley; nieces and nephews, Angela and Michael Coleman, Brianna Kurtis Kendrick, B.K. Farley, Rachel Justin Blackburn, Kearia Farley and Alexandra Farley; great-nieces, Isabella Coleman; special friends, Thomas Francis and Rex Varney, and a host of cousins, other family and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tues., May 13, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Wolford and John George Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in Farley Cemetery at McCarr with Rex Varney, Thomas Francis, Drewey Sincell, Barry Ratliff, Jerry May and Dwayne Cooper serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday night at the funeral home with special services both nights at 7 p.m.
