BELFRY, Ky. — Wesley Derek Williamson, 53, of Belfry, Ky., passed away Thurs., March 27, 2014, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 7, 1960, in Pike County, Ky., he was a son of Eunice Blackburn Williamson of Belfry and the late Eugene Williamson. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Williamson.
Derek was a former dozer operator in the coal mining industry and a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Additional survivors include his wife, April Renee Williamson; daughter, Tiffany Blankenship (J.D. McCoy) of Williamson; brother, Reggie (Tinkie) Williamson of Pikeville, Ky.; two granddaughters, Zoey Gibson and CaraLee McCoy, and a host of friends.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Mon., March 31, at Hatfield Funeral Chapel with Elder Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Family Cemetery at Huddy, Ky., with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the services Monday at the funeral home.
