HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Dallas Howard Jude, 80, of Huntington, formerly of Blackberry City, passed away at home Thursday, August 15, 2013.
Born November 6, 1932, in Blackberry City, he was a son of the late David C. and Stella Mae Butler Jude. Also preceding him in death were three sisters, Evelyn Hatfield, Rosalie Huffman and Arlene Hatfield, and three brothers, Fenton, Edwin and Adlai Jude.
Dallas was a U.S. Army veteran, retired teacher at Matewan High School and a member of Matewan Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Geraldine Smith Jude; a son, David C. Jude (Lori) of Huntington; a daughter, Vickie Ann Savage (Matt) of Staunton, Va.; a sister, Betty (Jim) Blankenship of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Melbourne (Brenda) Jude and Harold Jude, both of Blackberry City; four grandchildren, Benjamin D. Jude, Amy E. Jude, Adam B. Honaker and Kelly A. Savage, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 18, at Matewan Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors Carl Butler and Don Matney officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Matewan Missionary Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
