COLUMBUS, Ohio — David Jonathan Blankenship, 39, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Thurs., Oct. 17, 2013, at his home following a battle with cancer.
Born June 4, 1974, in Chicago, Ill., he was a son of Lois Bonita "Bonnie" Stump Blankenship of Phelps, Ky., and the late Bro. Billy Blankenship. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Lynna Blankenship, and two brothers, Joel and Allen Blankenship.
David was a graduate of Phelps High School, and a veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Additional survivors include his wife, Fay Gilbert Blankenship; one daughter, Amber Blankenship of Lenore, and four brothers, Wayne Blankenship of Joliet, Ill., James Blankenship and Ronald Blankenship, both of Sipsey, Ala., and William Blankenship of Majestic, Ky.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sun., Oct. 20, from Hatfield Funeral Chapel with his brother, William Blankenship, officiating. Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery at Sand Siding with Military Graveside Rites by the DAV Chapter 141 of Belfry, Ky.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
