FLORENCE, S.C. — Pastor Timothy Eugene Edwards of Florence, S.C., formerly of Mingo County, was born Aug. 26, 1949, in Williamson, a son of the late Bobby and Mickey Ann Edwards. He entered into eternal rest Sun., June 1, 2014, from the MUSC of Charleston, S.C., at the age of 64.

Tim served his country in the Marine Corps and fought during the Vietnam War, this was only the beginning of his selfless career. Upon meeting the love of his life, his wife Evetta, they began serving the Lord in the capacity of pastoring. Along with his wife, Tim was the founding pastor of the Crossfire Assembly of God of Varney.

In addition to his work in the ministry and his service to our country Tim also retired from BB&T with over 40 years in the banking industry.

Those that are left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Evetta; daughters, Robin and Rebecca; sons, Joshua, Travis, and Levi; sisters, Regina Whitt and her family, and Linda Spence and her family; and a brother Bruce Edwards.

Tim will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services honoring the life of Tim will be conducted at noon Fri., June 6, at Chambers Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Tommie R. Cline officiating; burial will then follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher with Military Graveside Honors conducted by Belfry, Ky., Chapter No. 141 of the Disabled American Veterans.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.
