HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Ernestine Hager Staton, 81, of Huntington, passed away Tues., Dec. 17, 2013, at her residence.
Born March 26, 1932, in Ransom, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Martha Dotson Hager. Her husband, Medley Staton; an infant son, Gregory Lee Staton; a sister, Edith Hatfield, and three brothers, Albert Vipperman, Alfred Vipperman, and Dewey Hager Jr., also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Staton was a retired teacher, having taught in Kentucky and Cabell County. She was a member of First Guyandotte Baptist Church for 54 years.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and John K. Trivette of Lexington, Ky.; a son and daughter-in-law, David K. Staton and Dr. Margarita Lassaletta Staton of Wadsworth, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and Eugene Adams of Adairsville, Ga.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Claude Vipperman of Mt. Dora, Fla., and Robert and Imogene Vipperman of Huntington; sister-in-law Brenda Hager of Nancy, Ky., and several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Services will be conducted at noon Fri., Dec. 20, 2013, at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington with Pastor Brian Schneider, Pastor Terry Jesse and Pastor Leo Skaggs officiating. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park at Milton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
