TURKEY CREEK, Ky. — Eula O. Lowe, 89, of Turkey Creek, Ky., passed away Wed., Dec. 11, 2013, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in South Williamson, Ky. Born July 19, 1924, in Pike County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Alexander "Bud" and Bettie Gibson Maynard. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Avery Brown Lowe; one son, Dennis R. Lowe, and four brothers, Edgle, Virgil, Alexander and Vinson Maynard.
Eula was a homemaker and a seamstress, and attended the Methodist, Old Regular, and Primitive Baptist Churches in her lifetime. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Stone, Ky., and Pikeville, Ky., Women of the Moose in Williamson, the White Shrine of Jerusalem of Williamson, and she enjoyed exercising regularly at the Harry L. Joyce Center.
Survivors include her children, Bob Lowe of Pontiac, Mich., Betty Kennard of Newport, Tenn., Sue Hall of Canada, Ky., Shelia Burke Lowe of Detroit, Mich., Dreama Justice of Raccoon, Ky., Timothy Brown Lowe of Turkey Creek, Ky., and Latona Carol Lowe of Springfield, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sun., Dec. 15, at Hatfield Funeral Chapel with her son, Timothy Brown Lowe, speaking. Burial will follow in Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky., with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
