DELBARTON, W.Va. — With many loving thoughts and memories, we will attempt to reflect on the life of a remarkable lady, Mabel Meyers Davis. The daughter of Louis and Mary Farley Meyers, Mabel was born January 23, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and went to be with our Lord on April 13, 2014, at the age of 76 at her home in Delbarton, WV.
On a summer night at the Magnolia Fair, she met the love of her life, Julius Davis Jr. They were united in marriage on September 15, 1956 in Delbarton with Rev. Jeff Chafin officiating. Over 57 loving years, four children were blessed upon this union, one preceding her in death, Robert Michael Davis.
Surviving children include Phillip Davis, Debbie (Robbie) Adams, and Jeremy (Jennifer) Davis, all of Delbarton. In her golden years, the Lord sent three grandchildren to highlight her days, Josh and Debrinna Adams and Alyssa Davis. She is preceded in death by one brother, Jay (Sue) Collins of Delbarton. Her loss is mourned by many other family and friends.
Mabel showed her profound love of the Lord with whomever she met on a daily basis. She was a member of the Regional Church of God and was baptized in January of 1970 at the hands of Jeff Chafin. She lived her life as a loving Christian for the rest of her days.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Julius Davis Jr. They were inseparable for the duration of their 57 years together. Through times of happiness and sorrow, their love for each other shone through in every way. Her marriage to Julius set an example of love for her children on a daily basis.
She was an inspiration for all of those who knew her strength. She was a fighter, yet had a heart of gold. She treated others the way they should be treated, and passed this down to her sons, daughter, and grandchildren. Her smile would light up the room, and her laugh would instantly make any situation better. Although she is no longer here with us, an amazing legacy has been left behind impacting all of those who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at Chafin Funeral Home with Rev. Mitchell Bias officiating. Burial will follow at Mike's Mountain Family Cemetery in Delbarton. Visitation will be at the funeral home chapel Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
