Minnie (Workman) (Bartram) Merritt left the arms of those who love her on the wings of an angel on Monday, November 4, 2013. She was carried from Pikeville Methodist Hospital to her eternal home, destination heaven.

She was born April 22 (always remember earth day and you won't forget my birthday she would remind us) in 1934. She left quite a legacy in her short 79 years. Never a cross word, a bad word or a mean statement ever left her lips. You can always find something good to say. Her career was that of a Certified Nursing Assistant and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her late husband of 54 years and our Daddy, Thomas Bartram. Her Mom and Dad, Sam and Ollie Workman went ahead to wait for her. Also preceding her in death was her brothers Ervin , Garland and Joe Workman. Her sisters Martha Robinette, Laura Dillon, and Margie Tomblin.

She is survived by sisters Mary Davis of Lenore and Cindy (Bill) Justice of N.C. Three brothers, Merl (Jackie) Workman of Lenore, W.Va.; Sam Workman,Jr. (Theresa) of Delbarton,W.Va. and Jimmy (Donna) Workman of Ohio.

Also left to mourn such a great loss is her husband, Glen Merritt of Lenore (formerly of Delbarton, W.Va.). They pastored Faith Christian Fellowship Church of God of Puritan. Glen was the love of her life from day one of their meeting at Walmart. Yes, he had her at HELLO at Walmart. They became inseparable in a love that surpassed all understanding. He gave her the big church wedding she always dreamed of. They completed each other till the last goodbye kiss. On the day she departed she said ( as she had many times—-these have been the happiest days of my life—I have never wanted for anything). Her kids and family all love Glen as a Father and appreciate the love and kindness he showed our mother. He gave her the white picket fence she had dreamed of all her life.

She is survived by four children, Regina Fuentes of Florida, Jerry Bartram of Florida, Teresa (Bobby) Wolford of Kentucky and Greg (Deb) Bartram of North Carolina and a very special friend, Frank Queen, of Florida.

She also had three step children; Glen Dale(Diana) Merritt; Homer Merritt; Betty(Roger)Scott, all of Delbarton.

She was proud of her six grandsons: Mark (Ana) Talbert of Florida, Shawn Wolford of Kentucky; Chad (Ashley) Talbert of and Stephen (Brandi) Wolford, both of Kentucky; Gregory Allen (Mary) Bartram and Eric (Madeline) Bartram, both of North Carolina.

Her great-grandchildren are: Lucas and Gabriel Talbert; Mackenzie Wolford and Isaiah Wolford; Amelia, Owen and Delaney Talbert; Conner and Arianna Bartram. Special granddaughter Kara (Robert) Vezina Carrillo.

Special thanks to the doctors and staff of Pikeville Medical Center and her longtime Dr. Brian Francis and staff.

Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bobby Wolford officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher, W.Va.
