WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — James Colen Dean, 59, of Williamson, went to be with the Lord Fri., May 9, 2014, at his residence.
Born Feb. 28, 1955, in Williamson, he was a son of the late James Howard and Jeanette England Dean. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by infant daughters Brandi and Samantha Dean.
He worked for the Williamson Utility Board for 26 years before retiring. He was a member of the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28, and he and his wife were married for 38 wonderful years.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Steele Dean; one son, James (Melinda) Dean, of the home; one brother, Ralph (Marsha) Dean of Williamson; two sisters, Darlene (John) Clark of Delbarton and Charlotte Gillman of Williamson; his best friend for years, Ricky Sheppard, and a very special dog, Max, that he loved dearly. Also surviving is a host of other family and friends.
Services will be conducted at noon Tues., May 13, at Pad Fork Freewill Baptist Church at Pad Fork, Hanover, with Bro. Dennis Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Short Cemetery at Pad Fork in Wyoming County with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday evening at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel with a special service at 7 p.m. with Eugene Preece and Calvin Clark officiating. The body will be moved to the Pad Fork Freewill Baptist Church on Monday where visitation will begin at noon with a special service at 7 p.m.
