ELK CREEK, W.Va. — Mary Elizabeth Baisden, 84, of Elk Creek, passed away Sun., Aug. 24, 2014, at Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Born March 27, 1930, in Delbarton, she was a daughter of the late Buddy and May Sipple Matney. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Buddy Halver Matney; her husband, John H. Baisden, and a grandchild.

Mrs. Baisden was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Lea (Eddie) Mahon of Tennessee, Debra Sue (Jim) Collins of Florida, Carolene Ray of Humble, Texas and Andrea Gaye Chafin of Natchez, Miss.; sisters, Bobby Sipple Swank of Columbus, Ohio, and Lilly Lou Duty of Delbarton; sister-in-law, Lucille Matney of Delbarton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wed., Aug. 27, at Chafin Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Hall Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Farley Cemetery at Elk Creek.

Visitation will be at the funeral home chapel Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the start of the funeral.
