Jeff Ferrell

Jeff Ferrell, 85, of Ragland departed this life Monday, July 22, 2013 at CAMC General Division in Charleston.



He was born November 05, 1927 in Ragland to the late John and Louisa Chafin Ferrell. He was a retired coal miner and was a member of the Rock House Freewill Baptist Church, member of the UMWA and served in the U.S. Navy WWII. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather Nick Maynard, one Son Donald Ferrell, two brothers Clarence and Joaquine Ferrell, and one Sister Juanita James.



Those left to cherish are his wife Maxine Ferrell of Ragland, three daughters Dinah Hughes of Ragland, Gail (Arthur) Curry of Verdunville, and Greta (Victor) Cline of Panther, one Brother Harold Ray Ferrell of Ohio, five Grandchildren Coby (Angela) Crum, Tara Topping, Aaron White, Shana Hughes, Ryan Hughes, and two Great-Grandchildren Desiree Crum and Morgan Crum.



Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. July 26, 2013 at The Rockhouse Freewill Baptist Church at Ragland with Pastor Scott Erwin and Brother Lewis Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Duty Branch Cemetery at Ragland. Pallbearers will be Aaron White, Brandon Sloan, Ryan Hughes, Arthur Curry, David Bailey, Scott Allen Erwin, Ricky Bailey, Glen Caudill, and Victor Cline; Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Curry, Rodie Hatfield, and Don Chafin.



Visitation will be held at the Church from 6 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday, July 24, 2013. Collins Funeral Home of Switzer is in charge of the arrangements.
