Thomas Phelps Obituary

Thomas Jackson Phelps, 67, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at the V.A. hospital in Gainesville.
He was born July 13, 1945 in Cross City to Thomas Edward Phelps and Christine Tucker Phelps.
He was a lifelong resident of the tri-county area. He served in the U.S. Army, was a truck driver and a Protestant.
He is survived by his wife, Lora Nickerson Phelps of Bell; a daughter, Anna (Darron) Mulac of Bell; sons, John Walters of Minnesota, Peter Walters of Tarpon Springs, Charles (Jean) Walters of New Port Richey, Thomas E. (Robin) Phelps of Old Town and Lewis Nickerson of Ft. Drum, N.Y.; six sisters, Carol Ann Boatwright of Inverness, Renda Young of Trenton, Maytle Button of Ocala, Joann (Noel) Arthur of Trenton, Mildred Alsayegh of Ohio and Rebecca (Richard) Koeth of Bell and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward Phelps and Christine Tucker Phelps and two sisters, Wanda Arnette and Sharon McBride.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 25 from 5-7 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at Bell Cemetery with Pastor Arthur Johnson officiating.
