Catherine S. Nix, 85, of Williston, formerly of Okeechobee, died Nov. 11, 2012.
She was born April 7, 1927 in Orange Field, Texas to William and Minnie Stine.
She was of the Christian faith and a member of Okeechobee Cowboy Church. She worked as a LPN for most of her life. She moved to Williston 18 months ago from Okeechobee.
She was a former member of the Citizens on Patrol in Okeechobee and a member of the VFW post in Okeechobee. She was a volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol and a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening, water skiing, playing cards, traveling, dancing, motorcycles and being a pilot.
She is survived by her son, Thomas (Fran) Nix; daughters, Donna (Dale) Graves and Cindy (Dan) Murphy; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Alpha Ministries at Freedom Ranch in Okeechobee with John Glenn officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Williston.
