Dean Pogue Obituary

Dean E. Pogue Sr., 80, died Oct. 16, 2016 at Hospice House.
He was born Feb. 27, 1936 in Stella, Mo., the son of Leonard and Jewell Anderson Pogue. He called Williston home from 1960 until the early 80s when he retired from the University of Florida and moved to Kansas. He was a United Air Force veteran and retired from Collins Industries as a mechanic and also worked for USD 312. Dean loved riding horses and worked after retirement as a school bus driver and for a local farm.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris Jeanette Smith Pogue; three children, Dean Jr, Brenda and Michael; stepchildren Bob Gilbert and Kristina Kaufman; sisters, Carol, Joyce and Janice; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis.
Memorial services will be held October 29, 2016 at 2 pm at the Hutchinson, Kan. Funeral Chapel. Internment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Reno County or Cancer Council of Reno County.
