Gregory L. Whilden, 50, of Williston passed away Jan.16, 2013.

He was born Oct. 27, 1962 in Ocala to John L. and Shirley (Newell) Whilden.
He was raised all of his life in Williston. He was of the Christian faith. He worked as a cowboy most of his life. He enjoyed riding and breaking horses, cow handling, singing, dancing, going out with family and friends, playing pranks on anyone he could, and hunting.
He is survived by his parents, John and Shirley Whilden; girlfriend, Kim Carmichael; sons, Doug (Kim) Whilden and their children, Cami and Lil Doug; Tyler (Arielle) Whilden and their child, Brayden; daughters, Morgan Hodge (Dennis Southard) and their child, Lawton, Haley (Chad) Brinkman and their children, Payton and Bentley; Taylor Whilden and Summer Carmichael; sisters, Janice (JL) Carlisle and their children, Shaun, Jamie, Jana, Chance; Carmen (Tim) Beasley and their children, Michael, Lindsee; along with a host of other family and special friends.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. at Plummer Cemetery with Wayne Hopping and Marty Brooks officiating.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the
Cowboys for a Cure or to the Greg Whilden family.
