James Henry Wood, 60, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 after a strong eight-month battle with esophageal and gastric cancer.
Born in Crawfordsville, Ind. June 14, 1958, he was the youngest of 11 children and raised in Tampa. He was an expert painter for more than 40 years and a passionate bass player. He was a member of many southern rock and country music bands throughout his lifetime, the latest band being the Doc Adams Band.
James will be lovingly remembered by his wife of just less than two years, Luann (Louie); his daughter, Seliena (Gary) Burns; stepchildren, Roddy and Chrissy Cox; siblings, Nellie, Richard, Rose, Anna Mae, Linda, Patty and Jerry and three grandchildren, Jorge Alvarez Jr., Emma Alvarez and Avrie Burns.
A remembrance luncheon will be held at First United Methodist Church, 213 W. Noble Avenue, Williston Sunday, Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the luncheon at McKenzie's Four Corners, 399 N Hathaway Ave, Bronson at 3:30 p.m.
