Jesse Leroy Morris, 80, of Archer passed away Oct. 3, 2013 at his home.
Born in Forrest Grove, he lived most of his life he Archer.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a mechanical engineer for the General Electric Corporation for many years.
He was a founding member of the Archer Volunteer Fire Department, serving as chief for many years. He also served on the Archer City Commission.
He belonged to Ornan Lodge 197 F&M?in Archer and was a member of Archer First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include son, Patrick Lee (Brenda) Morris; daughter, Leann (Rick) Slaughter; grandchildren, Christian Lee Morris and Douglas Shaun (Amanda) Slaughter; four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Anthony, Andrew and Sara.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Lewis Morris.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 8 at the Archer First Baptist Church with Dr. J.O. Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home, Williston.
