Winifred Louise Shaw Raker, 85, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012. She was born in Dixie County Oct. 18, 1927. She was married for 62 years to Herbert H. Raker Sr., who preceded her in death in 2010. She was a homemaker. She and her late husband founded Herbert H. Raker and Son Land Surveying in January 1979 and worked in the business until 2003. She was a member of Lydia Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Penny Robson; Dianne (Karl) Koschatzky and Judy Hatcher and her son Herbie (Suzanne) Raker all of Cross City; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a sister, Thelma Byrd of Live Oak. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Nomia Shaw; her sister, Merle Daniel; her son-in-law, Billy Robson and her great-granddaughter, Spencer Grace Koschatzky. Funeral services were Oct. 25 at Lydia Baptist Church with the Rev. Eldridge Lyons and the Rev. Jarrett Thomas officiating. Interment followed at Cross City Cemetery with the Rev. Leon Holden officiating.
