Baxman, Laura Inez - Medford
Laura Inez Baxman passed away at age 98 on March 17, 2015 in Medford, Oregon where she had been living. She was born November 13, 1916 in Willits, California, the second of three daughters born to Mary and John Pedroncelli, former dairy owners and original owners of John's Place. The last of the Pedroncelli girls, she is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann Erbes, granddaughter Jolene Erbes Heckerman and grandson-in-law Brent Heckerman of Pacifica, California. After graduating from Willits High School Laura worked for her father on the dairy and, after the dairy burned down, worked at the Commercial Hotel, her father's subsequent business. Later she worked for a telephone company and then the City of Willits. Originally married to John Stansberry of Willits, she later married Steve Baxman, who operated a gravel business in Fort Bragg where they lived for years. Together they enjoyed fishing and camping in the northwestern landscape and Alaska. Following the passing of Mr. Baxman she relocated to Central Point, where her daughter lives. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Jemma Serventi and Lillie Frost, and her grandson Jason Erbes Stansberry. Her survivors also include two great-grandchildren, Sofie Jo and Jesse John Heckerman; two nieces Sandra Eitelgeorge and Linda Clayton; and a nephew, David Frost. Friends and family are invited to a rosary and celebration of her life at 11a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, at St. Anthony's Church in Willits. Donations can be made on her behalf to Providence Hospice, 2033 Commerce Drive, Medford Oregon, 97504, or your favorite charity.
