Jesenko, George Arthur - Eureka  
George Arthur Jesenko passed away March 10, 2016 in Eureka. He was born in Berkeley, California November 12, 1935 and came home to Dos Rios when he was five days old. He spent his whole life there, except for a two year stint in the U.S. Army that took him to Baumholder, Germany. He was employed by the N.W.P. Railroad until he retired in 1988. He married Sharon Williams Hixon in June of 1969 with her son Scott. He and Sharon welcomed son John in July of 1970 and daughter Kristin in February of 1977. They raised their family at Dos Rios but sold the family home in December 2014 to move to McKinleyville due to George's declining health. George was dedicated to family, the railroad and his community, working on the water system which was an ongoing labor. He leaves wife Sharon of 46 years, step-son Scott Hixon and wife Teresa of Sacramento, son John Jesenko and family of Baker City, Oregon, daughter Kristin Jesenko Gutierrez and husband Ricardo of Arcata, seven grandchildren, Ashley, Sarah, Kayla, Hannah, Kate, Ian and Meren, one great-granddaughter, Mila, his sister Claire Krusko and husband Ken of Loxley, Alabama, numerous nephews and nieces and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all. There will be a celebration of life in McKinleyville, 1090 Murray Road, Ocean West Park Clubhouse on April 30 at 1 p.m.
