Seaton Jr., Melvin Edward "Eddie" - Willits
On the morning of December 16, 2014, our father passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness. Born on January 21, 1938 in Arcata, Eddie moved to Willits in 1942, where he lived until his death. He married our mother, Kaylee Seaton, in 1960 and they remained married for 51 years until she passed away in 2012. At an early age, Eddie began working for Leonard Munson as a gas station attendant. He later worked for Gil Holmes as a mechanic and tow truck driver. He then worked at WUSD as a bus mechanic supervisor, where he retired in 1999. Eddie was one of the founding members of the Shifter's Car Club. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Little Lake Fire Department from 1969 until 1981. He had a tremendous love of children of all ages. He was a longtime president, coach and umpire for Willits Redwood Little League. He took tickets at the Willits High School football games and he was a scorekeeper for the WHS boys and girls basketball games. He was also a life-long 49ers and Giants fan. He is preceded in death by his mother, Theola Hinton and brother, Lloyd Hinton. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Bob) Angius, son Rock Seaton, and daughter-in-law Melody; siblings Patti Branson, Chuck Seaton, Dian Hughes, Mike Hinton; grandchildren Bobby (Jenny) and Steven Angius, and Rock, Kaylee and Jett Seaton, as well as many nieces and nephews. On behalf of our family, we would like to thank Adventist Health Home Care Services, specifically Susan and Miriam; true angels on earth. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Per our father's request, no services will be held.
