Gerald William "Jerry" Cox(1925 - 2013)

Gerald passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
He was born in Ukiah on June 22, 1925, to Earl Cox and Barbara Gilman Cox. He served in the Navy in both World War II and the Korean war.
A lifelong resident of Mendocino County, he had owned the Hub Cigar Store at one time, and was a partner in Ukiah Sporting Goods and Liquors many years ago. He also was a deputy sheriff, snow ski instructor, real estate agent, car salesman and a collection agent.
After his divorce from his first wife, he moved to Willits and married his second wife Goldie. He remained in Willits for the rest of his life.
As a child, his parents built a cabin at Camp Ukiah at Blue Lake. He continued to go there throughout his life and had many friends there.
He is survived by his son, Garry Cox and wife Florence; daughters Carol Brewington and Christina Rodgers and husband Chris; step-daughter Sonja Williams and husband Mike; and step-son Craig Clatty. He also is survived by his brother, Gilman Cox, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Jean Pieda Cox, and his second wife, Goldie Mae Wachtel Cox.
At his request there will be no services. He asks donations be made to one's favorite charity.
