Fred Edward Littlefield, Jr., passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
The Guest Book is expired.
Born January 29, 1929, in San Francisco, Fred was the only child of F.E. Littlefield, Sr., and Elizabeth DeWall Littlefield. He attended San Francisco schools until age 16, when his father retired and the family relocated to Willits, where Fred graduated from Willits High School as a member of the "Class of 1947".
Fred was employed in the lumber industry for 35 years, working first for Willits Redwood Products and later retiring from Harwood Products.
His passion for fly fishing brought Fred and his wife to the northeastern California community of Lake Almanor West in 1987, where together they built their home and spent 25 wonderful years together. The Chester and the Lake Almanor area held a special place in his heart.
Fred was a 62-year member of the Free and Accepted Masons of California. He was originally a member of the Willits Lodge No. 365 which was later combined with Ridgewood Lodge No. 146 located in Ukiah.
Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pat (Dunn) Littlefield of Lake Almanor West; daughter Patricia L. Littlefield of Oakland; son, Alex F. Littlefield of Janesville; granddaughter Heather Littlefield of Covina; and cousins Les DeWall of Davis, and Kathleen Dunn of Holmes Flat in Humboldt County.
Fred's wish was not to have any formal services. The family will gather at a later time to celebrate his life. An opportunity to express your condolences to the family, along with signing the memorial guest register, is available online at www.fehrmanmortuaary.com.
In the time Fred has resided here he developed a trust and true affection for Dr. Dana Ware of Chester and Dr. Peter Magnusson of Chico. The family is forever indebted to them and their staffs for their loving and compassionate care of Fred.
The family wishes also to thank the Lake Almanor West Fire Department volunteers, Seneca Health Care District and Enloe Medical Center for their wonderful care.
The family suggests any remembrances in Fred's memory be made to the Lake Almanor West Fire Department, or a favorite
