James Patrick Kenney, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2012, at his home in Kettle Falls, Washington, at age 68.
Jim was born April 26, 1944, in Petaluma to Lester Patrick and Eileen Helen Kenney. He grew up in Fort Bragg, graduating from Fort Bragg High School in 1962. Those years, living on the coast, fostered his love for the ocean, where he spent many hours during his life abalone diving, rock fishing, and spear fishing.
After high school, Jim continued his education at Santa Rosa Junior College, receiving his associate's degree, a bachelor's degree at Chico State University, and a master's degree in education at Bowling Green State University, Ohio.
Jim held two teaching credentials from the State of California: the Standard Teaching Credential and a Community College Credential.
Jim took a teaching job in Willits, where he resided for more than 30 years. Many knew him as Mr. Kenney. He taught drafting at Willits High School for 20 years, and his passion for teaching helped many young people realize their talents, as well as developing skills that would be beneficial for a lifetime.
One of Jim's many talents was creatively working with his hands. He enjoyed designing, building, woodworking, stained glass, painting, as well as many other artistic mediums. Later in life, he enjoyed traveling, camping, biking, kayaking, gardening and made the most of every minute.
Jim knew our Lord Jesus Christ and will be dearly missed by his family and friends until the day we may be reunited.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Eileen, and father, Les; half-brother William Charles Pitt; half- sisters Elizabeth Pitt- Kane and June Pitt-Reilly; nephew Dennis Reilly; and niece Susan Reilly-Connolly

The family requests that all memorials be made to Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, Washington 99210, so they may be able to continue their support in the lives of other families.
