Lifelong Willits resident John Munson moved to higher ground on Sunday, October 28, 2012.
John was born November 7, 1929, at Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital to Leonard and Elizibeth Munson, the third son of four boys.
John attended Willits Schools and graduated from Willits High School in 1947. He was a lifelong rancher, raising cows and hay with deep roots and a great connection to his community. John was also a truck driver for more than 40 years. He worked for several companies, retiring from Shuster Enterprises after 27 years.
John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jeri; brothers Leonard (Grace), Delbert, Robert (Junie). John is also survived by his children: John (Jacqui) Munson, Janet (Mike) Helmar, Deona (Paul) Horton, Dede Munson, Steve (Karen) Rose, Ken (Richelle) Rose and Robin Rose. Grandchildren, Sarah, Lucas, Lacey, Cooper, Maddie, Amanda, Brett, Cody, Caitlin, Haley, Paul, Gary, Kelly and Nick, along with 10 great-grandchildren, also survive.
There will be a celebration of life at Little Lake Grange on Saturday, Novenber 3, at 2 p.m.
