Walter Richard Eriksen passed away at his ranch in Laytonville on Wednesday, February 6, 2013. He was born to Ernest and Leta Eriksen on April 10, 1922, in Ukiah.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry while in the Philippines.
Walt logged for Homer Helm, PHE, and Jess Gullet. He retired at age 70, to garden and work on the family ranch.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Peggy; son Richard Eriksen of Laytonville; daughter Wanda Lensing (Gene) of Arizona; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sister Roberta Branscomb of Laytonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
According to his wishes, there will be no service.
