Frank Alden Keys, 90, of Muncie, went into the arms of Jesus Sunday, January 26, 2014 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.
He was born July 21, 1923 in Winchester to the late Raymond and Mabel (Fielder) Keys. Frank was a graduate of Wayne High School and was employed at Overmyer Mould Company in Winchester for 40 years. He served as the minister of music at different churches in the local area including Winchester Church of the Nazarene and Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene, south of Selma and also in Florida for more than 60 years. He worked hard, played hard and prayed hard. Frank lived his life committed to Christ in the church. He dearly loved his wife, his family and many, many friends.
Surivors include his wife of 71 years, Melva (Austin) Keys of Muncie; his daughter, Rebecca (Rev. Martin) Gentzler of Hermitage, Pa.; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Zolnier of Masury, Ohio and Wesley Gentzler of Sharpsville, Pa.; four great grandchildren, Ryan, Katie and Zakary Zolnier and Troy Gentzler; a brother, Wilson (Ramona) Keys of Winchester; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Rose Annette Keys; a son, Curtis Garone Keys; a grandson, Dagar Keys; two brothers, Marvin and Earl Keys; and a sister, Mary Alice Frame.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 10450 S. CR 544 E., Selma with The Revs. G. Martin Gentzler and Jim Ballenger officiating. Burial will follow at Jericho Cemetery, east of Winchester.
Friends and relatives may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.walkerswinchester.com.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene, with envelopes available at the church.
