James L. Holcomb, 81, of Losantville, died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Henry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 2, 1932 in New Castle to the late David and Inez (Dumford) Holcomb and lived most of his life in Losantville. He was a graduate of Mt. Summit High School and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired employee of Indiana Department of Corrections at Pendleton, and was a member of Greens Fork Am Vets, American Legion Post 333, Hagerstown and VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Jacquita (Burchett) Holcomb, to whom he was married on November 17, 1957; 2 daughters, Jessica Stiening of Farmland and Andrea Lykens (Kevin) of Mooreland; 2 grandchildren, David Stiening (Stephanie) of Parker and Dylan Lykens of Mooreland; 2 great-grandsons, Donovan and Declan Stiening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Josalynn Holcomb in 1979; and a brother, Charles Holcomb.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown, with The Rev. Robert Fannin officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Losantville.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
