Robert E. "Bob" King, 81, of Winchester, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Willowbend Living Center near Muncie.
He was born October 7, 1932 in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Aud King and Lorena McCarroll. He attended Winchester High School and was a mould maker, retiring from Armstrong Mould in Winchester. He later worked at the Winchester Golf Course. Robert served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Winchester Moose, Union City Eagles, Union City V.F.W. and the Winchester American Legion.
Survivors include his son, Mitch King (Traci Brown) of Indianapolis; his daughter, Marcy (Chuck) Tarter of Winchester; four grandchildren, Matt (Jen) Tarter, Brody (Christina) Tarter, Blakeliegh King (Tyler Koch) and Kelsey (Bryant) Tarter Gentry; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Caleb Tarter; and special friends, Bobbi Wood and Beth Helmick.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, with Pastor Tom Sells officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester, with military rites conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
