Lowell Sickels Obituary

Lowell C. Sickels, 82, of Winchester passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Pine Knoll Rehabilitation Center, Winchester.
He was born November 21, 1929 in Randolph County to the late Herschel E. and Lydia (Thurston) Sickels. Lowell was a 1947 graduate of Union City High School. He retired after 44 years from OMCO in Winchester. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a 40-year member of Clear Creek Congregational Christian Church and attended Harrisville Congregational Christian Church. Lowell loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, collecting milk bottles and his family.
Survivors include two daughters, D.D. (Ben) Tuttle of Winchester; Sherry (Ted) Fowler of Winchester; three granddaughters, Dione (Mark) Trusley of Winchester, Marci (Troy) Lowell of Winchester and Lisa Fowler of Richmond; three great grandchildren, Chris Tuttle, Lynee Lovell and TJ Lovell; one brother, Harley Sickels of Winchester; two sisters-in-law, Antoinette and Dellarose Sickels; a special friend, Glenda Retz and her children Lisa (Jim) Keener and Beth (Greg) Howell and families.
In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by his wife Fern (Bryan) Sickels who died in 2000; and two brothers, Herbert and Maurice Sickels.
A service to celebrate Lowell's life is 3 p.m. Monday at Harrisville Congregational Christian Church, Harrisville, with Pastor Coleman Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester.
Friends and family may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the church. Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.walkerswinchester.com.
