Patricia A. "Patty" (Miley) Helsley, 61, of New Castle, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

She was born December 2, 1951 in Winchester to the late William Miley and Ruby (Partin) Sullivan. Patty was a 1970 graduate of Winchester Community High School. She was a member of the Salvation Army in New Castle where she served as a volunteer. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, taking care of others, gardening and was known to have had a green thumb. Patty was a cherished Mamaw to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Angel (husband: Joe) Petty and April Helsley (fiancé: Chris Stamm) both of New Castle; her grandchildren, Paul Kissick, Joey Petty, Aniah Petty, Isaac Helsley, Lilyann Hampton, William Miley and Katie Miley; her stepfather, Paul Sullivan of Winchester; her brother, Dave (wife: Debbie) Miley of Winchester; her two sisters, Diane (husband: Tony) Bosworth of Winchester and Becky Miley of Eaton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Helsley; a son, Jason Miley; and a nephew, David Unger.
A memorial service is 7 p.m. Friday at Sproles Family Funeral Home, New Castle.
