Evelyn "Ann" Abernathy, 85, of Winchester, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 26, 1928, in Muncie to Eddie and Emma (Waltz) Daugherty. Ann was born and raised in Muncie. She was a homemaker. Ann was a 1947 graduate of Center High School. She attended the Main Street Christian Church in Winchester.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Alden "Abbey" Abernathy of Winchester; a daughter, Cindy (Jake) Hadix of Rushville; a son, Todd (Tammy) Abernathy of Winchester; a son, Joe (Angela) Abernathy of Winchester; 10 grandchildren, Curt Hoyt, Tammy Smith, Nicki (Kristin) Bosworth, Kevin (Brittany) Abernathy, Kyle (Michelle) Abernathy, Amber (Jason) Seedorf, Adam (Jacqueline) Abernathy, Derek Sloan, Katy (Bryant) Hoblit, and Kelsey Ann (Matt Peden) Abernathy; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Crosley of Needles Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Maureen Daugherty and Shirley Daugherty; and two special caretakers, Doris Hardwick and Nikki Aber.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Emma (Waltz) Daugherty; two brothers, Norman and Bill Daugherty; and two great grandchildren, Brogan Bosworth and Morgan Seedorf.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, with Pastor Cecil Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester.
