Frank A. Heaston, 92, of Hagerstown, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 16, 2013, at Hickory Creek of New Castle.
He was born Aug. 5, 1921 in Hagerstown to Raymond, Sr., and Ida Loretta (Favorite) Heaston. He was the oldest of 12 children.
Frank was a 1941 graduate of Hagerstown High School. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy, receiving a medical discharge November 27, 1944 with the rating of Machinist Mate First Class. He married his high school sweetheart, Doris Ellen Smith March 25, 1945 and she preceded him in death in 2004. Frank was a member of Hagerstown First Baptist Church and a life member of American Legion Post 338 in Dublin. He was employed at Perfect Circle/Dana Corp. from 1945 to 1978. He was a minister from the 1960s through the 1980s, when his health forced his retirement.
Survivors include four children, Danny Heaston (Janie) of Winchester, Jeffrey Heaston of Hagerstown, Alberta Conner (Royce) of Hagerstown and Joyce LeVay (Bobby) of Silver Springs, Fla.; two grandsons; two granddaughters; four great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; two great-great-granddaughters; twi brothers; and three sisters.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a infant daughter, Rebecca Sue Heaston; one brother; and five sisters.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept 23 at Hagerstown First Baptist Church with The Rev. Herscel Watson officiating. Burial is at West Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Culberson Funeral Home
