Gloria CINAT

CINAT, Gloria (Zilli)
Gloria Cinat (Zilli), 78, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, at rest Thursday, March 27, 2014. Gloria was born April 4, 1935, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Beloved wife of Larry Cinat, blessed as her childhood sweetheart and loving husband of 53 years. Dedicated and caring mother of Laura Jean Cinat (Matthew Reese) of Chicago, Illinois. Generous grandmother to two adoring girls, Susan Isabella Reese and Emma Catherine Reese. Beloved sister of Larry Zilli (Eldred Zilli). Dear aunt of Alison Zilli of Windsor, Ontario, Raymond Zilli, of Toronto, Ontario, and cousin of Lucy Zilli and Lydia Larkin of Staten Island, New York. Dear sister-in-law of the late Louis (Goldene) Cinat. Gloria was preceded in death by her father and mother, Fantino "Valentino" Zilli and Marianna (Fogolin) Zilli, of San Vito al Tagliamento, Italy, and by two daughters, Lissa Marie Cinat of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Dr. Marianne Eva Cinat of Rossmoor, California. Gloria graduated from The University of Michigan in 1957, and forever after was an avid Michigan fan. She held a strong belief in the importance of education, and passionately advocated for the advancement of women. She was quick with a smile, had boundless energy, and enjoyed verbal sparring on topics ranging from politics, to sports, to the pages of People magazine. She was always thinking about the "little guy," and her strong principles and values were core to all she did. She made a career as a registered nurse, serving for many years at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where she also taught student nurses. Later she worked as a diet counselor. She influenced everyone to do their best and stand up for what is right. She brought passion into her home, excitedly preparing elaborate, delicious, multi-course meals; introducing her family to her love of opera, fine art, and classical music; creating and cultivating beautiful flower gardens around her home; and welcoming visits from friends and neighbours at all hours. More recently, she enjoyed creating pottery with her granddaughter. Gloria gave absolutely everything she had to give - her legacy lives in all she knew.
