John Atkinson Memoriam

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 5, 2009.
ATKINSON, John Charles In loving memory of a dear nephew, who passed away May 5, 2006. Our Angel in Blue There is someone who misses you sadly; And finds the time long since you went. There is someone who thinks of you always; And tries to be brave and content. Gone is the face we loved so dear; Silent the voice we loved to hear. 'Tis sad but true, we wonder why; The best are always the first to die. Love, Uncle Chuck & Aunt Sharon

May the comfort from family and friends continue to strengthen you during this difficult time, and may you find comfort in the words found in the last book of the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. I am so sorry about your loss. I am just wanting to inform you on what hope the bible has for the dead at Jhon 5:25 where it mentions "...the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who have given heed will live." The scripture assures us that their will be a ressurection in the near future for all to see their dead loved ones again!

words cannot take away your great pain, but please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear and precious John. He sets a sterling example for all of us to follow in our lives. Courage and bravery were just a few of John's many precious traits and he has influenced the lives of countless people with his integrity and committment. His life was a tribute to all that is good and honorable and we will continue to benefit from his fine example of a life of service to his community. I send out a prayer for you at this sad time of separation, but it is temporary. You will be reunited with John again. God's word promises "God will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning, outcry nor pain be any more." (Revelation 21:3,4)

I know the last year must have been difficult for all three of you. As the days go on, you will keep the memories of John alive with good thoughts about every happy moment all of you spent together. John is holding your hand and walking beside you Shelley, and watching the children grow every day. He is smiling down from above and will watch over the three of you until you meet again. God Bless the three of you.

There are no words that can ease your pain or make your grief any easier to deal with. Keeping the memory of your husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend and fellow officer alive will ensure that his life was not lost in vain. As a member of this community and neighborhood I say thank you to Const. John Atkinson for looking out over our area and protecting our streets, for not being afraid to put yourself in harms way and doing a job that can be thankless at times I'm sure. You are now a guardian angel for all of us. I thank you! My family thanks you! Windsor thanks you! I have never felt more pride or sense of unity within the community it's just too bad that it had to be through a very unfortunate tragedy to occur. Know that he will never be forgotten! I pray that time, your family and friends can help you get through this incredibly difficult time. My prayers are with you all!

They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
