L. Russell Conway


CONWAY, L. Russell
Born February 4, 1923 in North Cayuga, Ont. Passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Muriel "Peggy" (nee Hedden) of 64 years and family by his side. Cherished father of Maureen and late husband Davis Dean, and Paul and wife Joanne of Ottawa. Proud grandfather of Jamie and Keegan. Will be missed by sister Irene Plummer and late husband Charles of Ottawa. Russell served overseas in WWII with the Royal Canadian Signal Corps. He was a 60 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594, and Life Member of St. John's Masonic Lodge 35 in Cayuga, Ontario. He worked for many years with the New York Central Railroad and eventually retired as a Train Master with C.N.R. Russell and Peggy were avid golfers and enjoyed travelling. They were able to return to Europe several times to visit places he helped liberate. If you so desire, donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society would be appreciated by the family. A private family service has taken place under the Auspices of the Windsor Veteran's Services Committee and R.C.L. Br. 594. Arrangements entrusted to
